Shirley Jean Parson, 88, passed away on Aug. 26, 2017

Shirley Jean Parson, 88, of Augusta,  passed away Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 in Wichita.
Visitation 6-7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, with Rosary following at 7 p.m., both at Headley Funeral Chapel, 813 State Street, Augusta. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at St. James Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Augusta.
Shirley was born in Fort Scott, Kan. on Jan. 26, 1929, to the late Della (Logston) and Floyd Pitts, Sr.  She was a registered nurse at Stafford District Hospital, Stafford, Kan., and later worked as a nursing administrator at Mt. Home Hospital, Idaho.  Shirley took great comfort and strength in her faith, and was very active in her church.  On June 12, 1982, she married Bill Parson in Grandview, Idaho, who survives her.
 She is also survived by: son, Greg Cooper and wife Carol of Lawrence, Kan.; daughter, Teresa Cooper of Wichita,; son, David Cooper and wife Patricia of Sedona, Ariz.; son, Randy  Cooper and wife Pamela of Twin Falls, Idaho; stepdaughters, Dianne Mitchell of Boise, Idaho, Linda Mccaughey and husband Jim of Hagerman, Idaho, Marie Austin of Las Vegas, Nev., and Della Sue  Parson of Wichita; sister, Mary Beamon, of Buhl, Idaho; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Cooper, and her brother, Floyd Pitts, Jr.
