Peggy Weisser, 64, passed away on Aug. 27, 2017
Peggy (Petersen) Weisser, 64, passed away on Aug. 27, 2017, at LakePoint Nursing Facility in Augusta after a 30 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She won the battle and peacefully entered into the arms of Jesus ,where she is now singing, dancing and eating.
Peggy was born on Oct. 9, 1952 in Luverne, Minn., and moved to Tyndall SD when she was 15 years old. She attended Tyndall High School and then went on to get her Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from Sioux Valley School of Nursing in Sioux Falls, SD. She returned to Tyndall, married her high school sweetheart Ken Weisser, and worked at St Michael’s Hospital in Tyndall. They later moved to Hastings, Neb. and then to Brush, Colo., and she worked in hospitals as an NICU nurse until becoming disabled with MS.
Her greatest love was for the Lord and she served in the churches she attended in many different positions.
Her greatest joy was being a mother to her three children: Melissa Weisser of Aurora Colo., Aaron Weisser of Denver Colo., and Adam Weisser of Brush, Colo.
Also surviving her: her mother, Gladys Petersen of Augusta; two sisters, Linda Kelley and Glennis Svanda, both of Augusta; brother, Tom Petersen of Edina Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Roy Petersen.
The family thanks the Good Samaritan Home of Tyndall, SD and LakePoint of Augusta staff for the excellent care she had received over the last 20 years.
