Lolita Ann Zerbe, 77, passed away on Aug. 2, 2017

Lolita Ann Zerbe, 77, of Augusta, passed away Wednesday, Aug.2, 2017 in Wichita.
Visitation  1-8 p.m., with family present from 6  to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug.  7, 2017 at Headley Funeral Chapel.  Service 10 a.m. on  Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, at Augusta United Methodist Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta.
Lolita was born in Mount Pleasant, Iowa on April 28, 1940, to the late Velda (McConahay) and Dean Buffington. Lolita co-owned the Augusta Daily Gazette along with her husband, Carter.  Her work also included positions at Augusta Floral and Butler County Title Co.  Lolita was active in many organizations and activities in Augusta and Butler County, including Beta Sigma Phi sorority, BCCC Golden Grizzlies, Jr. Forum, and the Augusta Senior Center.
During her decades-long membership at Augusta United Methodist Church, Lolita was a devoted chancel choir member.  She was active in Leah Circle and served others during mission trips to Cookson Hills, Okla., Sayer Brown, La., and Della Lamb in Kansas City.  Additionally, Lolita was a regular volunteer for commodities distribution at the National Guard Amory, joined her "lunch bunch" friends weekly, met with realty colleagues for social and entertainment activities, and enjoyed bunco games with friends.
On Oct. 19,1957 she married Carter John Zerbe in Spring Run Church in Columbus Junction, Iowa. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by: daughter, Brenda Rodda  and husband Elliott of Winfield, KS; daughter-in-law,  Patti Zerbe of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Lynne Tjepkes of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren, Rhiannon (Catina) and Richard (Jodi) Zerbe, and Elijah and Emory Rodda; great-grandchildren, Madeline Carnahan and Cole Martin. She was preceded in death by her son, Brian.
