Charles "Chuck" C. Davis, 80, died on Aug. 3, 2017
Charles “Chuck” Conrad Davis, 80, died in Monroe Manor in Jay, Okla. on Aug.3, 2017 from complications caused by pneumonia.
Visitation with family present will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 6, at the Lawson’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St. in Jay, Okla. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at the funeral home.
Charles Davis was born on Feb. 16, 1937 in Newton. During his lifetime, he resided in Potwin, Kansas City, Mo., Liberal, and Jay, Okla. Charles served in the U.S. Army until 1959 attaining the rank Specialist 4th Class. Chuck spent much of his career working for Jayhawk Pipeline and retired after over 30 years of employment. Charles was an active member of the Shriners and served as President of the Southwest Shriners Club as well as Potentate’s Aide to the Midian Temple. Chuck was also very interested in politics and was invited to attend the inaugurations of Presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. Outside of politics, Chuck loved taking fishing trips to Walker, Minnesota and he was an avid baseball fan. His favorite team was the New York Yankees.
Survivors include: one daughter, Lori Hada and husband William Hada of Jay, Okla.; two grandchildren, Justin Roehr and his wife Stephanie Roehr of Weatherford, Okla, Josh Roehr and his wife Kelli Roehr of Gladstone, Mo.; and two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Samantha Roehr.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence N. Davis and Irene Davis, of Liberal, and his brother Richard Harding Davis, of Liberal.
