Mary Jane 'Janie' Randall, 79, passed away on July 13, 2017

Mary Jane (Welty) Randall, 79, Winfield, formerly of Harlingen, Texas, went home to be with the lord, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, July 13, 2017.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Mary Jane “Janie” Randall was born on Dec.  3, 1937 in El Dorado, the daughter of Lloyd Rollo Welty and Emma Marie (Harrison) Welty. She graduated from high school in El Dorado, and later graduated from Cowley County Community College. Janie was married to Irvin Clair Randall Jr. on Nov. 1, 1957 in Winfield. They were married for 60 years and during that time Janie worked at the Winfield State Hospital as a licensed mental health technician. She later went on to work at the Winfield City Lake office for many years. Janie and Irvin enjoyed RVing, camping, and fishing. After retiring they spent their time at Eastgate RV Park in Harlingen, Texas  for over 20 years and then moved back to Winfield  in 2011 to be with family. Her true passions were quilting, crocheting, knitting, and painting. She was the most talented and crafty person we have ever known. She was always crocheting and knitting numerous hats and scarfs and donating them to the Cancer Society in honor of her niece, Julie Welty. She has always enjoyed spending hours playing wahoo with her family, using her big blue balls. Janie and Irvin had many pets over the years that they loved while the most recent being Mr. Parker.
Survivors include: her husband Irvin of Winfield;  daughter, Catherine Randall of Winfield; son, Randy Randall and wife Anna of Laural, Md.; grandchildren, Kevin High, Kayla High, Hayli Randall, Chaz West, Danielle, David, Valarie, Amanda, and Sierra Randall; sisters in law, Helen Welty, Janice Welty, and Sharon Maag; cousin, George Welty and wife Adela; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Richard and Steven Randall;  her brothers, Ron, Don, JB, Lloyd, and Sam Welty.
Memorials in Janie’s name can be made out to the Cowley County Humane Society and may be left in care of the Shelly Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
