Ruby M. Bush, 96, died on July 12, 2017

Ruby M. Bush, 96, Wichita, died on July 12, 2017, at Manor Care Nursing.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Benton Cemetery.
Ruby, the daughter of Caney and Leona Hamilton, grew up on the “West Side” of Wichita and spent her entire life in Wichita. Arlo and Ruby were married in Wichita on Pearl Harbor Day, Dec.  7, 1941. During WWII, she was “Ruby the Riveter” at one of the local aircraft plants. After the war and Arlo’s discharge from the Army Air Corps, she was a homemaker and later worked for Meadow Gold Dairy and drove a school bus. Arlo was a manager for Dillon’s for many years. Later in life he and Ruby ran a fruit stand on the corner of Greenwich Road and Harry Street until they retired in 2007.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Arlo Bush, and her sisters, Florence Foraker, Georgia Brinton and Pauline Longren.
She is survived by: her son Jim Bush and daughter-in-law Judy of Overland Park; two grandchildren, Jamie (Carina) Bush of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Joe (Kara) Bush of Leawood; great-grandchildren, Laney, Maylee, Aiden and Ansley.
