Larry Wayne Adams, 77, passed away on July 11, 2017
Larry Wayne Adams, 77, El Dorado, passed away peacefully at his home om July 11, 2017.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church, officiated by retired Pastor Steve Hysom.
Larry was born on March 3, 1940, in El Dorado, to Russell and Marie Adams. He grew up in El Dorado, where he met Darlene Schowalter, and they married on Dec. 22, 1959. Larry worked for Becker Trucking until they moved in 1971 to Eureka, where he owned and operated a gas station and Tonovay Tool Company. They later moved to and worked in many locations, including Mt. Sterling, Ill., Silsbee, Texas, Aransas Pass, Texas, Phoenix, Ariz., Los Angeles, Calif., and Graham, Texas, and finally moving back to El Dorado. He enjoyed going to the coffee shop, built 3 – three wheeled motorcycles “trikes”, and was a member of The Brothers of the Third Wheel and the Lions Club.
His loving family includes: his wife Darlene; son, Galen (Janet) Adams of Towanda; daughter, Dee Anne (Tony) Grunder of El Dorado; sister, Donna Petry of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Nicholas, Rachel, Taylor, Alec, Katie, Shannon, and Alex; four great-grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Desmond Eugene; and a brother, Larren Dean Adams.
