Mary Lou Taylor, 76, passed away on Feb. 7, 2017, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.
Mary Lou’s life began on March 13, 1940 in Hutchison. She was the daughter of Lewis and Mary Kate (Tomlinson) Coots. Mary Lou was a 1958 graduate of Towanda High School. She was united in marriage to Donald Taylor on March 15, 1958 in Towanda. Mary Lou was a devoted mother and homemaker all her life. She was active with C.C.L., a member of the Elk’s, and a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Towanda. She enjoyed fishing in Arkansas, reading, Facebook and crocheting baby blankets for fellow church members. Mary Lou’s greatest joy was being a mother and grandma.
Her loving family includes: her husband Donald of El Dorado; her children, Jo Lynne Taylor of El Dorado, Micheal Taylor of El Dorado, Le Ann (Dan) Ott of Hot Springs, Ark.; grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Taylor of Leon, Eric Ott of Hot Springs, Ark., and Tabitha Taylor of La Vista, Neb.; and her brother, Lindell (Sharon) Coots of Lynden, Wash.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie and James Coots.
Her family will gather with friends from 5-7 p.m.on Friday, at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at Towanda Cemetery led by Pastor David Gibbs.
