William "Bill" Athal Stevenson, 78, passed away on Jan. 16, 2017
William “Bill” Athal Stevenson, 78, IBEW Local #271 Journeyman Electrician for 55 years, passed away on Jan. 16, 2017, at his home with his family by his side.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a memorial service at 11 a.m., all on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at First Baptist Church, 107 S Maple St, Douglass.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1938 in Springfield, Mo. to Willard and Mae (Wheeler) Stevenson. Bill was married to Beth Ellen Benning on Sept. 16, 1961 in Coffeyville. Bill and Beth made their home north of Rose Hill in 1972 and later moved to Douglass. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing and had tinkered in hobbies including toy trains and gun parts.
Bill is survived by: his wife Beth of the home; daughters, Kimberly Mae Baker and Ramona Lea Hagerty (Michael); brother, David Grant Stevenson (Robyn); grandchildren, Matthew William Baker (Brittney), Brandon Michael Baker, Sarah Hagerty; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Mae; an infant son Jeffery Stevenson; and brothers, Bobby Jean and Donald Lee Stevenson.
