Ron "Cowboy" F. Veith, 70, passed away on Jan. 31, 2017
Ron was born on Oct. 8, 1946 in Wichita, the son of Alfred and Laverda “Darlene” (Broadhurst) Veith. Ron was a graduate of Bentley High School and was retired from the El Dorado Correctional Facility. He was a jack of all trades-concrete, woodworking, carpentry, and mechanic. He was a rancher, and rode bulls in his youth. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved his horses and cattle. He was united in marriage to Mary F. Carter in 1995 in El Dorado.
His loving family includes: his sons, Ryan Veith of El Dorado, Steve (Angela) Carter of Wichita, and John Carter Jr. of Leon; mother, Darlene Veith of Wichita; grandchildren, Christopher (Laykin) Veith of El Dorado, Bryan (Georgie) Carter of Haysville, Shelby (Jason) Ramsey of Wichita, Leslie (Jordan) Thompson of Kansas City, Mo., Britton (Christie) Carter Mills of Derby, Daria Carter of El Dorado; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jane Jayne of Rose Hill and Kathy Denayer of Wichita; 5 nieces and nephews and4 great nieces.
Ron passed away at his home on Jan. 31, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, who passed away Jan. 24, 2017; his father Alfred; brother Keith; and two children Ronald Jr. and Melissa.
His family will gather with friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Brian Bebak at 10 a.m. on Monday at 10 at St. John’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Whitewater Cemetery.
