Celebration of Freedom's Salute to Veterans

This year we honor a Veteran who served in the U. S.  Army from 1954-1956.  His service took him to Germany where if was an Artilleryman, Fire Detection Center E-5 Sargent.  He is a Life Member of the Captain Edgar Dale Post No. 81 here in El Dorado.  He is a devoted member of the Post and served for many years as a member of the Post Color Guard.
For 35 years, he worked for Cities Service Company/Occidental and retired from that position.  He if the father of three sons—Terry, Bob and Steve.
His dedication to the oil industry started early as he grew up in the Teterville, Kan. community and attended High School at Hamilton.
Henry E. Pursell, better known as Hank - is the Celebration of Freedom Veteran of the Year. Thank you so much for your service in active duty and beyond.

The Celebration of Freedom Parade is at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, followed by a Hot Dog Feed & Inspection of Military Equipment.
WWII Battle Reenactment will be held at 2 p.m at the Kansas Oil Museum, 383 E. Central.
Musical Salute to Our Veterans will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, at Butler’s Hubbard Center.
