Grant from the Chelsea Gerbitz Community Memorial Fund

Sunlight Children’s Advocacy and Rights Foundation (SCARF) is pleased to announce that it has received a $1,000 grant from the Chelsea Gerbitz Community Memorial Fund funded through the Central Community Foundation – Butler.  The organization will use the funds to provide materials for the children who come to SCARF’s Sunlight Child Advocacy Center.
The mission of Sunlight Child Advocacy Center is to provide quality intervention, investigation, and prosecution of child abuse through a coordinated multidisciplinary system dedicated to breaking the cycle of child abuse.  It has provided services to more than 1,500 children since opening in 2007.
SCARF also received a grant for $3,080 from the L. Marie Haun Charitable Fund for Children funded through the Central Kansas Community Foundation.  The organization will use the funds to provide the children who come to SCARF’s Sunshine Children’s Home with the items necessary to help make their stay as positive as possible.
Sunshine Children's Home is a temporary safe haven that tends to the physical and emotional well-being of the child by providing a safe, caring and nurturing environment.  It has provided services to nearly 1,900 children since opening in 2014.
