Assisting students

Butler Community College in Andover is partnering with Butler County Transit to provide Butler students free transportation between two of the college’s Andover locations starting August 20, 2018, when classes began.
Students have the opportunity to park at the 5000 building, located on 13 St., and ride to the 6000 building, which is on the North end of Andover High School. With the impending construction and expansion of the Andover High School, it is anticipated that parking will become a challenge at the 6000 building.
After evaluating several options, Butler Community College approached Butler County Transit with the idea of a partnership. This idea led to a partnership that is mutually beneficial and allows Butler County Transit to extend their hours into the afternoon for community patrons in Andover.
The service is available from 8-9 a.m., 11:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m., and 3-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with busses running every 20 min during the hours of operation. The College is providing the funding for the routes as a service to students. Staff and faculty may use the service as well.
This partnership is a win-win for Butler students, as well as the Andover community.
