The El Dorado Care and Rehabilitation Center is on the list

The Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) is taking action to ensure that the 854 residents of 15 nursing homes across the state will continue to receive the care they need.  KDADS has requested power to take over the nursing homes following notification by their owner that payroll would not be met.
The El Dorado Care and Rehabilitation Center, 900 Country Club Lane, is on the list  of Kansas nursing homes, as well as locations in Wichita and Wellington.
The facilities were operated by Wood Ridge, N.J., based Skyline Healthcare and unable to may payroll at 21 nursing facilities in Nebraska, which were placed under the control of a third-party receiver last week.
The company acquired the Kansas facilities in 2016, the same year it took over 21 Nebraska facilities.  KDADS reports that the company owes taxes to that state and has had problems paying its vendors.
Mission Health Care, which operates 14 nursing facilities in Georgia, Kansas, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, has agreed to operate the Kansas facilities until a permanent resolution is reached.
