Team of the Year

Butler Community College’s Livestock Judging Team wins the national championship of 2018. This makes the team and the coach, Taylor Frank, back-to-back champions. During the past decade, there has only been one other coach to be awarded team of the year in back-to-back seasons. The event took place at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Collegiate Livestock Judging Contest. Colleges from across the country participated.
Three members of Butler’s Livestock Judging Team were named All-Americans. These All-Americans include Kenzie Kretzmeier of Fowler, Ind., Tanner Barnes of Stephenville, Texas and Cade Hibdon of Princeton, Kan. Only fifteen students nationwide receive this title.
The Livestock Judging team returned from Nationals bringing home the High Team Overall award from their last national contest of the year. Individuals won other awards as well. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo was established in 1932.
