Andover's new Dollar Tree had a grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Feb. 9. There was a soft opening on Sunday, Feb. 4.

The 9,367-square-foot store is located at The Plaza Shopping Center, 530 North Andover Road. A store of this size typically employs 12 to 20 associates.

“Dollar Tree continues to grow, and we are proud to be part of the Andover community,” Kayleigh Painter, manager, investor and media relations specialist for Dollar Tree, Inc., said.

In celebration of the opening, the new store has been holding a variety of activities for shoppers. This weekend, the store will have "shopping cart Bingo." Carts will have hidden numbers underneath them, and when a certain cart's number is called, the person who is using that cart will get five of their items for free.

Dollar Tree stores are open seven days a week and offer a broad assortment of merchandise, all priced at $1 or less.
