School closings around the county
Wind chill advisories and an extreme weather alert has forced the closing of schools around the area on Tuesday morning. Frostbite can happen in 30 minutes or less if you aren't dressed properly. Make sure to cover exposed skin. Wind chill advisories are in place through early Tuesday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Bureau, skies will be clear during the night with lows falling below zero in most of the state. Feels like temperatures early Tuesday will be 10 to 20 below zero. The wind will be backing down throughout Tuesday, but it isn't going to warm up at all. Most of you will see teens for highs.
Temperatures will start coming up Wednesday afternoon as the wind turns back to the south. It will be much milder at the end of the week with 50s and 60s returning by Thursday and Friday.
