Water damage results from pipe bursting

The El Dorado Police Department offices received major water damage when a pipe burst last Thursday, soaking ceilings, walls and floors.
El Dorado City Clerk Tabitha Sharp advised that headquarters was lucky that the water did not affect the office’s main computer server or any other computers.
“We caught it in time and our server was spared,” Sharp continued, “Some ceiling tiles were soaked, some walls and quite a bit of carpet.”
Some computer equipment was moved to drier locations.  Part of the building was closed on Friday and repairs will take place through the coming weeks.
Sharp reported that one theory for situation suggests a frozen pipe thawing and expanding.
“The insurance adjuster will be here this week.  We were able to dry out the carpet in the municipal courtroom in time for Monday court,” Sharp stated.
