Both El Dorado and Augusta experienced power outages on Monday, but the two situations were not related, according to a Westar spokesman.
Kevin Gregg with Westar reports that an equipment failure behind the El Dorado Dillon’s store around 2 p.m. caused a disruption for about 46 addresses. The problem was corrected and the system back on line at approximately 3:40 p.m.
Augusta’s power outage occurred about the same time, but was attributed to the weather. Monday’s high winds caused arcing power lines, resulting in a short circuit. The problem was resolved quickly.
