About 300 people and 200 baskets filled the El Dorado Civic Center on Saturday, Nov. 4 for the 17th annual Grace Lutheran Church Basket Social. Baskets with seasonal themes such as fall or Christmas, cooking, chocolate, hunting, car care, dogs, books and children’s toys were donated by church members and members of the community. People attended the event with their family and friends for a fun evening together and to join in helping to raise funds. Proceeds are donated to the Community Action Network to aid in requests from people in the community who need help with rent, utilities and food. This year, donations were made to Butler County Cold Weather Shelter and Kids Need to Eat summer program. Those in attendance said it was amazing to see the creativity used to put the baskets together. Grace Lutheran Church appreciates the generosity of those who helped make this year’s event a success.
