Ruth Fechter, Butler County treasurer, was re-elected and sworn in to her position at the county commission meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 10. She has a four-year term.

"[I want] to continue to serve the people of Butler County by ensuring the primary functions of the treasurer's office – tax collection, motor vehicle and driver's license – are carried out accurately, courteously and efficiently," Fechter said.

Also during the meeting, groups of high schoolers from around the county participated in County Government Day by taking tours of the historic courthouse and sitting in on the the county commission meeting.

The commission did not have a quorum; no items of business were addressed.
