Flinthills Services will be hosting its second annual “Burgers and Brew” fundraising event on Sept. 16. This year’s event will be held at Lynbrooke Sporting Clays in Augusta. Flinthills Services will provide day services and residential care to adults with developmental disabilities. Burgers and Brew raises funds to support under-funded services for clients.

The Wichita Wagon Masters will be grilling gourmet hamburgers. Walnut River Brewery will provide craft beer. Domestic beer, soft drinks and wine will also be served.

Tickets are available for both non-shooters and shooters. Non-shooter tickets are $25 each and include admission and dinner. Shooter tickets are $50 each, or $250 for a team of five. Space is limited for shooters, so advance registration is advised. The shooting course features 13 stations, and each shooter has 50 targets.

Shooters register at 1:30 p.m., and dinner and drinks for both shooters and non-shooters will be served starting at 5 p.m.

The Rock ‘N’ Rollers will provide entertainment. Rock ‘N’ Rollers are a musical group of adults with developmental disabilities.

“This group is inspirational!” Kathy Walter, executive director, said. “They are enthusiastic and help us focus on abilities rather than disabilities.”

Sheriff Kelley Herzet will serve as master of ceremonies for the evening. The event features raffle items and a silent auction.

Products made by adults with developmental disabilities will be for sale, including the exclusive line of Zenses products featuring scented bath bombs, bubble bars, fire starters and voice print greeting cards.

Raffle items include a Ruger 9mm handgun in Tiffany blue, a TriStar Viper Max 12-gauge shotgun and a Yeti Tundra 45-gallon cooler. Raffle tickets are available online or at the event.

Examples of silent auction items include a day fishing with Sheriff Kelley Herzet, tickets to games at the Kansas City Royals, Wichita Thunder and Wichita State University sporting events.

Other sporting items in the silent auction include are a basketball signed by the University of Kansas men’s basketball team, a football signed by Kansas State University football coach Bill Snyder and a deluxe camping package from Coleman, among other items.

Kendra Scott jewelry, spa and golf packages, dinner and a plane ride from Stearmans, a complete child’s birthday party at Jumpy Jump Land and numerous other prizes will be featured at the silent auction.

Attendees can bid on trips to a NASCAR driving experience, an all-inclusive vacation to Cancun, a Tuscany culinary escape and more.
