Jenifer Seymour and Jamee Crenshaw held a grand opening for Gypsy Boutique, located at 109 N. Main St. in El Dorado, on Saturday, Sept. 2.
Seymour and Crenshaw are sisters-in-law, and they co-own the boutique. Gypsy Boutique carries small to plus-size clothing for women, with some men's clothing as well. There are also some handbags and jewelry in the store.
"We like to cater to everybody – the little girls and the big ones," Seymour said.
Seymour emphasized the importance of making plus-size clothing available for women, since those items can oftentimes be tough to find.
Gypsy Boutique actually started in El Dorado about seven years ago on Central Avenue. However, Seymour had to shut it down in order to travel for her husband's work. She and her husband eventually moved back to El Dorado around 2013 or 2014. After her return, Seymour started the boutique back up – but only in an online version for a while.
In January this year, Seymour decided to give Gypsy Boutique a storefront again; it was located in El Dorado's District 142 downtown. Yet, she and Crenshaw were soon looking for a bigger space, so they moved the boutique to its current Main Street site. At their new location, the sisters-in-law are looking forward to serving the people of El Dorado.
"We like to cater to our hometown and not having them go to Wichita. We like to have everything that they need here," Seymour said.
In the future, they want to expand their clothing lines – especially for guys. Additionally, they may possibly add kids clothes at some point.
Gypsy Boutique's hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The store shares its location with the office of real estate agent Gail Crenshaw, who is Seymour's mother.
