Being a business owner is hard work. It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day activities and focus on everything within your four walls. But sometimes, the best thing you can do for your business is step out of your business and work on your business.

The El Dorado Chamber of Commerce, along with local partners, is providing the rare opportunity to do just that. Don't miss it!

Growing Rural Businesses is an eight-week class focused on improving and growing rural businesses. It costs $250 for all eight sessions, and the classes are held every Thursday, September 7 through October 26, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the El Dorado Civic Center, located at 201 E. Central Ave. in El Dorado.

Created by the Center for Entrepreneurship, using Kansas rural communities data, this class is taught by leading industry experts and Wichita State University professors from the Center for Entrepreneurship to look at different aspects of how to improve or grow your business.

Participants will receive comprehensive, practical instruction in the finer points of growing a thriving rural business in a dynamic, collaborative environment where they’ll network with peers. Facilitated group discussions will provide insights about business challenges and strategies to solve them effectively.

This class forces you to step out of your business and focus on marketing techniques, customer satisfaction, market saturation, legal implications, cash flow analysis, sales techniques and more.

The majority of the costs for this class are being covered by local E-Community funds, which makes this opportunity affordable. Those in Butler County who would like to take advantage of this opportunity are encouraged to do so.

Enrollment is limited, and online registration is at www.wichita.edu/grb. Those who sign-up before August 25 will receive the early bird discount of $50 off.
