The Butler County Fair kicked off it’s first activity on Saturday at the El Dorado High School. 43 youth ages 7 to 18 and two youth ages 5 to 6 modeled 87 outfits for the fashion review. The outfits they modeled were either purchased or made through clothing construction. Outfits ranged in style from western, dress, casual, and prom dress to suits and and fun summer outfits. Prior to the start of the public Youth were judged on their outfit along with general appearance and knowledge of how to care for the garment.
Clothing Construction Winners
Junior Grand Champion - Grace Ricke from Benton Busy Bees. Grace also had the champion and reserve constructed garments for her top and shorts.
Junior Reserve Grand Champion - Avery Guardiola from Purple Heart 4-H Club.
Intermediate Grand Champion - Ivalea Tien from Benton Busy Bees. Ivalea also had the grand and reserve constructed garments for her blue top/leggings and black & white top.
Senior Grand Champion – Renata Goossen from North Butler 4-H– Renata also had grand and reserve constructed garments with her jacket and dress.
Reserve Senior Grand Champion – Roman Merck from Rose Hill Rustlers
Martha Leonhard Memorial Wool Award winner went to a Roman Merck with a vest he constructed.
