Nearly 60 donors gathered on June 23 in the Hubbard Welcome Center to celebrate and honor amongst themselves those who have made commitments to Butler in the form of an estate gift.
Vice President of Advancement Stacy Cofer welcomed guests and thanked those present for being philanthropists. “You are improving humankind by providing funds, usually scholarships, for Butler students,” she said.
Eight individuals and couples were inducted into the Circle of the Gold Society this year, the Foundation’s planned giving recognition society.

Anita Seivley – El Dorado, Kan.
Ida Mae Waite – El Dorado, Kan.
Donors who are recognized at the annual event have made a commitment in writing to the Foundation.
Recent Hubbard Award of Excellence winner Olivia Jacoby was the special guest speaker. She professed gratitude and hope to those in attendance.
“Because of Butler Community College, I was able to conceive, believe, and achieve many goals far higher than anyone expected from me,” Jacoby said during her speech. “I cannot say thank you enough from the very bottom of my heart. You have helped shape my future in more ways than one.”
A special check presentation of $10,000 was made by Jim and Sally Hargrove on behalf of an anonymous donor who utilizes Hargrove’s legal services.
“This money is going to stay right here in the county where it belongs,” Hargrove said. “Helping students at Butler.”

Philanthropic contributions to Butler Community College are coordinated by the Butler Community College Foundation. The foundation manages fundraising efforts with alumni, friends, corporations and foundations to secure private support for the college.
