Three students excel

Several members of the Augusta High School Band were selected to be a part of the 2017 Kansas All-State Band. Those chosen were Noah Meinecke-Bass Clarinet (1st Chair) and Ezri Berggren-Bassoon.
Additionally, Sam Natvig-Trumpet earned a spot in the All-State Jazz Ensemble. High school band students from across the state attended live auditions at Lakewood Middle School in Salina Saturday, Jan.7 for a chance to participate in the All-State Band. These groups will participate at the Kansas Music Educators Educators In-Service/Workshop at Century II in Wichita, Feb. 23-25. The All-State Band will be conducted by Dr. Patrick Dunnigan, Director of Bands at Florida State University. The All-State Jazz Ensemble will be conducted by Dr. Robert Lark, Director of Jazz Studies at DePaul University (Chicago).
