$10,000 awarded in grants

On Wednesday afternoon, the Andover Kids 4 Kids clubs, in association with the Andover School District, awarded $10,000 in grants to five area foster care agencies at Andover High School. The agencies to receive grants were: Kansas Children's Service League, St. Francis Community Services, Ember Hope, Sunlight Children's Advocacy and Rights Foundation (SCARF) and Wichita Children's Home.
Several students assisted in distributing the grants to the area agencies. Those students were: Hannah Showalter, Hayley Jones, Mallory Loflin, Morgan Short and Julia Graves.
Kids 4 Kids is an organization run by Andover students to raise funds and host events to benefit underprivileged children in the community. In the last year, Kids 4 Kids raised funds to enable at-rick children to attend summer camp and to purchase food and other items for foster care agencies.
Kids 4 Kids builds the leaders of tomorrow by teaching them to lead their peers and organize events today. Students involved are put on a path to lifelong giving as they see first hand how important and worthwhile it is to help others in need.
