Spotlight on volunteers

Volunteers play an important role in the operations of the Augusta Historical Museum and historic C.N. James Cabin.  The volunteers were recognized at a special reception held in their honor at the museum.
Betty Roy was recognized as Volunteer of the Year in honor of her longtime care and work in the Native Wildflower Garden, located just west of the museum. Bob Stanley was also named Volunteer of the Year and was recognized for his uniquely crafted miniature replicas of buildings.
New museum director Priscilla Templin updated everyone on activities and shared that  recently three freshman English classes have visited the museum while working on a book study.   The teacher contacted Templin to inform her that the students thoroughly enjoyed the visit and were discussing what they had learned. The students sent a booklet containing their thoughts and appreciation to the museum volunteers who shared stories and experiences.
