Welcome the newest exhibit and exhibitors to the Coutts Museum of Art as we hold a reception from 4:30 - 6:30 pm on Thursday, August 10 for the opening of the Kansas Academy of Oil Painters (KAOP) Exhibit on our first floor gallery.
Be one of the first to see the artwork from some of Kansas’s top oil-painting artists, including Jim Clements, Rita Zaudke, and many more. Content and style of the paintings will be as diverse as the artists. Talk with the artists and Coutts staff to learn more about the artwork. Light hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served; a cash bar will be available.
The KAOP exhibit will be on display at the Coutts Museum of Art from August 8 through October 21.
KAOP was created in 1985 in order to stimulate interest in oil painting for both artists and viewers/collectors. Its principal goal is to encourage each other to achieve excellence in painting through Member interaction, sharing of information, and painting demonstrations. Those whose artwork has been judged by the KAOP Board of Directors, or has been accepted by three National Small Oil Painting Competitions, may become members.
The Coutts Museum of Art is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization which supports art and art education in El Dorado, the region, and to its visitors. Founded in 1970, the Coutts has worked to support local, regional, and state artists such as KAOP.
The opening reception is free and open to the public. For more information on this event call the Coutts at 316.321.1212, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit our Facebook page.
