Kim Snare and staff continue to promote seat belt safety

For the second year, Kim Snare and her staff at State Farm Insurance in Augusta, recently participated in the seat belt safety campaign “Bucks for Buckles.”  The campaign, a partner ship of State Farm and Safe Kids Kansas, encourages families to buckle up and drive safely.
One-dollar bills were distributed by volunteers from the local State Farm office, to drivers who had all occupants buckled up securely in their vehicles.  Educational materials bout the effectiveness of seat belts and child safety seats in saving lives and reducing injuries.
“Seat belts are important in saving lives.  We just want to help remind families that buckling up is a simple thing to protect those they love,” said Kim Snare, Augusta State Farm agent.
Snare, along with others in her office, spent a couple of hours at the Augusta Sonic drive-in watching to see who buckled up before leaving the parking lot.   A number of drivers were pleasantly surprised.
Kids follow  your lead.  Studies show that when the driver is buckled up, 96 percent of children are also restrained.  Seat belts save nearly 14,000 lives every year and are the best defense against drunk, aggressive, and distracted drivers.
The Kansas seat belt fine is  $30 this past.
