El Dorado YMCA hires for youth director roles

Alison Oelfke

Youth & Family Director

Alison Oelfke is from La Crosse, WI and loves fresh cheese curds and the Green Bay Packers. She graduated from Viterbo University with a BFA in Arts Administration: Performing Arts Emphasis, and a Dance minor. She started dance with the YMCA at age 4, and has been leaping and turning ever since. Throughout college she performed with the Viterbo University Tailfeathers Dance Team for three years, led the team for two years, and performed with Kinesis Dance Theatre for one year.

She started working for the La Crosse Area Family YMCA at age 15, and has been with the Y in multiple roles since then. She started in the PrimeTime Center game room, then moved into the dance, swim, and inclusion departments. She has a passion for providing a fun and safe learning environment for all children and really enjoys watching her students grow.

As the Youth and Family Director, Alison will oversee Kid Zone, Mom’s Day Out and Parents Night Out, Dance, Gymnastics, Cheer, and Martial Arts. Even though she’s a long ways from home, she is looking forward to making a new home here in El Dorado while she continues working for the organization she’s loved since day one.

Wendy Wilkinson

Youth Program Director

Wendy Wilkinson grew up in El Dorado, graduating from El Dorado High School and Butler Community College. As a kid growing up in El Dorado, Wendy participated in youth sports through the Recreation Department and later worked summers as an umpire and referee. After she graduated from Bethany College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree is Recreation Administration, she moved back to El Dorado and worked full time as the Program Director for the City of El Dorado Recreation Department.

During Wendy’s professional career, she has been the Recreation Director for the City of Hillsboro. She was then tasked with the opportunity to start and grow the recreation department for the City of Haysville. Over the years, Wendy has worked in City Government and in the private sector of recreation development, management and overseeing all functions of recreation, including programs, sports, aquatics, and facility management.

Wendy is enthusiastic about the opportunity to join the leadership team of the El Dorado YMCA as the Youth Program Director over aquatics and sports. She strongly believes in the mission of the YMCA and looks forward to the opportunity to serve the community that she loves.
