William "Bill" Tillman, 64, passed away on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018 at his home in El Dorado.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at the Vassar Community Center. Inurnment will be in the Vassar Cemetery.
He was born on Nov. 2, 1953 in Topeka, the son of John and June Miller Tillman.
 Bill grew up in Vassar and graduated from Lyndon High School in 1971. He lived and raised his family in Leon and had been in El Dorado for the last several years.
Bill worked in law enforcement, served as a Park Ranger for Pomona State Park and El Dorado State Park. He was a store manager for Wal-Mart and had been a bluegrass musician for many years. He was a member of the Vassar United Methodist Church, the Kansas Prairie Pickers Association, the Vassar Polecats and the Prospect Bluegrass Band.
Bill was married to Peggy Lee Streeter on April 26, 1975 in Vassar, they were later divorced.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and June; his step son, Chad Lee Barnhart; and a granddaughter, Alyssah Jane Faith Tillman.
 Bill is survived by: his three children, Benjamin John Tillman (Joanna), William Joseph Tillman and Crystal June Crank (Damon), all of El Dorado; his two sisters, Kathy Pingleton (Phil) and Karla Porter, all of Topeka; thirteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
