  • Last week we talked about heart diseases.  This week we will address a number of cures for heart disease.
Jesus Christ has said a good and honest heart that is the healthy is the heart of the soul!  “And the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.”  (Luke 8: 15).  So, what are the conditions that make for a good and honest heart?
First, the good and honest heart examines the evidence.  Christianity teaches us that faith is based on evidence.  The good and honest heart seeks the evidence of truth in order to be saved.
Second, the good and honest heart studies the evidence.  The quest for truth is comparative to a miner digging for gold.  We have to be willing to dig and dig and dig to find treasures!  The good and honest heart digs for such truths that are contained in the Scriptures.  Jesus said, “…If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”  (John 8: 31, 32).
Finally, the good and honest heart believes the evidence Christianity has put forth.  The apostles Paul, said it best, “But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.”  (1 Thessalonians 5: 21).
The cure to our heart problems is in a spiritual transformation of our heart, mind, and soul in Christ Jesus!
