Andover's boys soccer team started its season with a 4-0 win against a tough Berean Academy team Tuesday night.

Connor Hernandez scored the opening goal on an assist from Trevor Newton. Senior captain Tommy Fiszel gave the Trojans a 2-0 lead on an assist from Zach Shaw.

In the second half, Shaw scored a goal of his own on an assist from Ean Fisher, and Hernandez added a second goal to close out the match.

Andover outshot Berean 13-5.

 Orioles 0, Winfield 0 (2OT)

Augusta's soccer team had two shots hit the post within the first 15 minutes of its season-opening match against Winfield Tuesday. The Orioles possessed the ball much more than Winfield, but the Orioles couldn't get anything to find the back of the net in a 0-0 tie.

Coach Monty Rowland said the Orioles' defense, led by Caleb Strack, had a monster game, shutting down most of Winfield's attacks. He added that the Orioles didn't take enough advantage of shot opportunities throughout the game.

The Orioles' next game is at Valley Center Thursday evening.
