  • Wreck update: Three injured in two-vehicle accident on the west side of Pratt Monday night.

  • An Oklahoma man is in serious condition and two Missouri women are in fair condition after a two-vehicle accident Monday night at the west city limits of Pratt. All three remain in Wichita Hospitals.

  • Three people, one from Oklahoma and two from Missouri, were injured in a two-vehicle head-on crash on the west edge of Pratt Monday night.
    The accident occurred around 8:25 p.m. on U.S. 54 at Rancho Road on the west edge of Pratt when an eastbound 1996 Crown Victoria, driven by Jason Smith, 40 of Tipton, Okla., crossed the center line on U.S. 54 and crashed head-on into a westbound 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Shannon Edwards-Smith, 26 of Mexico, Mo., said Pratt County Sheriff Vernon Chinn.
    The Jeep stopped upright in the north ditch facing west while the Crown Victoria came to rest crossways on the highway in the middle of the road, facing north. Neither vehicle rolled over.
    Pratt County EMS transported all three to Pratt Regional Medical Center. LifeTeam Helicopter transported Smith to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita where he remains in serious condition.
    Edwards-Smith and her passenger Alexis George, 27 of Mexico, Mo. were both transported by ambulance to Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center where they are both listed in fair condition.
    Two dogs in the accident did not appear to be injured and they are being cared for.
    The Pratt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
    Pratt County Sheriff’s Office, Pratt Police Department, Pratt County EMS, Pratt County Rescue, Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism and Kansas Department of Transportation assisted with the accident.
