They are asking people to consider membership before the 2014 Membership Drive comes to a close on Sept. 1. There are several membership levels to choose from, each of which will allow a person to make a difference locally.
The 2014 co-chairs, Dr. Pamela McCullough, D.D.S., Jennifer Vogts, and Diana Torline, are working hard to grow the membership base for the Women’s Community Fund. The larger the membership base, the more funds available for distribution. The mission of WCF is to provide an avenue for women to engage in local philanthropy. Members share a belief that by working with others, instead of alone, they can maximize their efforts within the community. The motto, “Together, we can accomplish great things,” reinforces the notion by pooling funds, women donors can make a significant difference in the projects they support within their neighborhood.
There is still time to become a member. People can be part of this giving circle that since inception has exceeded $220,000 in distributions to local charities. Last year alone 12 organizations received more than $22,000.
Sandra Fruit, CKCF executive director, said the group is trying to build its numbers to more than 50 members.
