Overnight storm leaves some without power
Overnight storms left many streets in Augusta littered with limbs, leaves and debris.
Many residents experienced power outages, but service was restored in almost all locations early this morning.
Jim Sutton, production manager of the city’s electrical department reported that around midnight circuits were going off and on around the entire city.
“Sixty percent of residents lost power, but around 90 percent of those were only off a few minutes. There was a 10 percent who were without power for about three hours.”
Sutton advised that lots of downed trees and limbs were to due to high winds. Sutton also reported the city received about 1.25" of rain.
City crews were still out working at press time.
