  • A former Augusta resident came back to the city from Wichita Tuesday evening and ended up being shot in the leg after an altercation at 1227 Spencer.
Jared Bishop, 21 of Wichita, brought Malik Muhammad and two younger black males back to the residence on Spencer Tuesday afternoon. Muhammad claims a robbery ensued and during the robbery one of the other men in the home pulled a gun.
After a struggle for the gun, Bishop was shot one time in the leg.
Augusta Safety Department Chief Tyler Brewer said the two younger black males fled on foot and reportedly got into a car waiting for them around a corner.
Bishop was taken to a hospital for the treatment of the gunshot wound.
A similar incident was reported in Wichita Tuesday, so both departments will compare notes to see if the two incidents may be connected.
No drugs were found at the scene of the alleged robbery. No arrests have been made.
Officers continue to search for the shooting suspects.
