The best part is, they get auctioned off for people to enjoy. In addition to the traditional goodies, they also have added a category for modified foods such as sugar free and gluten free products.
This year, the 4-H Food Auction will be held at 7 tonight at the Butler County 4-H Building/ Community Building in El Dorado. Local auctioneers, Joe and Jeremy Sundgren will serve as the auctioneers for the evening and they do a great job with the youth! All proceeds from the auction go to benefit the Butler County 4-H Council. 4-H is a youth organization modeled on the learn-by-doing method. Youth learn life skills through participating in hands-on activities. Skills such as communication, interview, public speaking, responsibility, mastery, leadership and citizenship, just to name a few, will help propel them forward in life. The Food Auction is one event that helps raise funds for 4-H activities to be able to provide them opportunities to learn and develop these skills.
