The El Dorado Walmart was evacuated for about an hour this evening as El Dorado Police officers investigated a bomb threat.

Lt. John Stewart said at around 5 p.m. a call came in to Walmart from a Middle Eastern male claiming he had a bomb. The manager who took the call thought it was a hoax and hung up. Stewart said he called back and talked to another manager and got the same response. The third time he called between 5:20 and 5:30 p.m. he talked to a manager for a while, then they called the police.

"The initial officers cleared the store and didn't find anything out of the ordinary," Stewart said.

Stewart said the suspicions about it being a hoax were because the call originated from another state. The police contacted the FBI to inform them of the incident.

The store reopened at about 7 p.m.
