White Eagle Credit Union generously donates $20,000 to SCARF
White Eagle Credit Union donated $20,000 to the Sunlight Children’s Advocacy and Rights Foundation for the Sunshine Children’s Home being built in Andover.
The donation from White Eagle Credit Union, which has been a part of Butler County and active in the community since 1935, helped S.C.A.R.F. to exceed its capital campaign goal for the Children’s Home.
The home, which will provide a temporary shelter for abused and neglected children of Butler, Elk and Greenwood counties, has been a dream project for S.C.A.R.F. for several years. The much needed home will provide temporary accommodations for infants and children up to age 17 and is expected to accommodate up to 15 children at a time.
Suzi Thien, executive director of S.C.A.R.F., was excited when she received the news.
“S.C.A.R.F. is honored that White Eagle chose to provide such a generous donation for the home and helped us to achieve our capital campaign goal,” she said.
The check was presented to S.C.A.R.F. at the site of the Sunshine Children’s Home by White Eagle Credit Union President Rick Blue and other staff and board members from the Credit Union.
