  • El Dorado LunchBox provides free meals to children from noon to 1 p.m. on weekdays through Aug. 8 at two meal sites: The Family Worship Center (701 S. Atchison), and Forest Park (where the city swimming pool and band shell are located).
LunchBox  meals are for all children in the 67042 area code. Baby food is available for younger children, including pureed Stage 2 foods and Stage 4 finger foods. Each day, parents of children still in diapers can take home two diapers.
Tuesdays is Book Day at the FWC and Thursdays at the Park – kids get to pick out a free book to take home from a wide assortment of used books for children of all ages.
Most days fresh veggies are available from Numana Gardens.
Monday usually is Ice Pop Day and Wednesday is Fresh Fruit Day. Fridays kids take home extra foods for the weekend.
Fresh Fruit Days have been sponsored by the First Baptist Church, C-Tech and Savage Services. To sponsor a Fresh Fruit Day or make a tax deductible donation, contact Kids Need 2 Eat President Judie Storandt at jgstorandt@msn.com or 405-3080-9158 (cell).
The LunchBox is supported by United Way El Dorado, the George Trimble Trust, HollyFrontier, Walmart  in El Dorado, St. John’s Altar Society and many other community businesses, organizations and individuals.
