  • The Coutts Museum of Art will be holding their monthly Brown Bag Lunch Program this Tuesday, July 15, at noon. Clint Gilbert, a southeast Kansas singer/songwriter will perform new original music and selections from his “Painterhood Valley” CD.
Gilbert performs simply with his acoustic guitar and loves playing small intimate settings as well as larger shows with other musicians. Not fitting in with a strict country or rock group, Clint performs a variety of music styles and bends them to his own unique expression.
Gilbert’s music may remind you of artists’ such as John Prine, Merle Haggard Dwight Yokum, or John Mellencamp. His music tells the tales of people he grew up with, lived with, or has come to know in his travels. It’s a distinctive Kansas sound, honed from his southeast Kansas roots.
The Coutts Museum of Art, located in downtown El Dorado, Kansas is a regional destination art museum that houses over 1,500 works of art in an historic downtown building. The collection includes Art of the American West, contemporary American, European, and regional Kansas art. The museum is open Tuesday thru Friday from 9a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturdays: noon – 4 p.m. The museum and all Brown Bag Programs are always free and open to the public. Be sure to “like” the Coutts’ Facebook page at www.facebook.com/couttsmuseum for updates on all museum activities.
