  • While driving down Central Avenue on Friday morning, one Butler County Sheriff's Deputy noticed smoke coming from what he thought was the Burger King restaurant. When he pulled into the parking lot, he was able to radio dispatch to page the Fire Department.
Once in the parking lot, he realized the smoke was actually coming from 'That Flippin' Egg" restaurant and not Burger King as it was originally thought. The restaurant was found to be closed and no one was inside.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they gained entry to the restaurant and found the structure was filled with smoke. They found the fire, which was confined to a laundry closet in the far corner of the restaurant. The fire was quickly extinguished.
The contents of the laundry room included a washer and dryer. The small room and its contents were destroyed by the fire and the restaurant received smoke damage. Several other businesses connected to the restaurant also received some smoke damage.
The damage is estimated to be approximately $10,000, which does not include smoke damage and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
