Kenneth H. “Kenny” Conrad, 68, of El Dorado, passed away on Sunday, June 29 in Wichita. Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 5, 10 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Walnut Valley Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church following the graveside service.
Kenny was born on November 20, 1945 in El Dorado, the son of Parrotte and Harriet (Huffman) Conrad. He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1963 and was the scanning manager at Dillon’s for 38 years. He also worked part time at Ace Hardware. Kenny was united in marriage to Diana Kay Briggs on July 30, 1988 in El Dorado. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and did volunteer work. He enjoyed his family, golfing, singing and ringing bells. Kenny also loved his Bible Study group, traveling the roads and taking his grandkids on trips.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Diana; son, Ken, Jr and his wife Nancy of Orlando, Florida; daughters, Kristy Conrad of Reno, Nevada, Julie Simmons and her husband Scott of Augusta, Misty Schuster of El Dorado; 8 grandchildren, Adam, Hanna, Erin, Talen, Laryn, Hansen, Hayden and Allison.
His parents, one sister and one brother preceded Kenneth in death.
