The Augusta wrestling team’s trek to the University of Nebraska-Kearney camp has become a yearly highlight of the team’s offseason schedule.

The Orioles sure made a highlight out of this year’s trip. Augusta won the Div. II UNK dual tournament championship by beating Columbus, Neb., 42-30 in the championship. The Orioles beat Wagner, S.D. 42-10 in the semifinals.

In addition to the team title, Augusta’s Blake Watkins was voted as the camp’s Legitimate Tough Guy. Watkins was a state qualifier for the Orioles this past year and usually wrestled up from his weight.

Augusta had other fun times throughout the camp. The Orioles won their first match of tug-of-war before losing in the semifinals. They even got to see the world’s largest ball of twine on the trip.
