  • Zair Koeiman hit a three-run homer to win game one then smacked a crucial double in game two as Hays swept El Dorado 4-1 and 5-2 at McDonald Stadium on Sunday.
Koeiman's blast broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the seventh. Then  in game two, he doubled in the second in Hays' three-run inning.
Dylin Mucha was the bright spot hitting-wise for the Broncos, going 1-2 in the opener with a sacrifice. He went 2 for 3 with a walk in the nightcap.
    Hays swept the three-game series.
Jeremy McGowan sparkled on the mound for El Dorado in the opener. He pitched six innings, allowing just three hits and no earned runs. In addition, he struck out nine and walked one.
The Broncos are idle today and will travel to Newton on Tuesday. Mikel Mucha will make his season debut in Tuesday's game. Mucha broke his leg during the Wichita State season in a collision with Micah Green.

Derek Birginske hit a three-run homer in the first inning, and Hays ended El Dorado's modest four-game winning streak, handing the Broncos an 8-2 loss at McDonald Stadium on Friday night.
The second of the three-game series will be tonight.
Michael Burns led off with a double, the first of his four hits. It appeared the Broncos would get out of the inning unscathed when Matt Slauter got the next two batters. However, with two strikes, Ty Detmer was hit by a pitch to set the stage for Birginske's homer.
El Dorado could muster just two runs. Both came after two were out in the fifth. Levi Parker walked and on a 3-2 pitch with Parker going, Morgan Oliver doubled. Dylin Mucha then singled in Oliver.
