  • Have you stopped and considered that God wants all men to be saved?
However, do you realize that not all of humanity will be saved, because some choose to disbelief and be lost?  Nevertheless, some of those who seek God ask, "Does God know my name?"
How then does He know us?
Do you spend time reading the Bible?  God makes Himself known, when we read and study His word.  Consider the words of Jesus in John 8:31, 32 “…If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
The reading and studying of God’s Word is the prerequisite to knowing God.
Do you seek His Will?  If God is to know us then we must surrender our will to His.  Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount how God answers prayer: “Pray, then in this way: Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6: 9, 10).  God answers prayer when we submit to His will.  God knows and remembers His people who seek His will!
Do you walk in the way of the Lord?  The reading of the word of God and the seeking of God’s will leads us to obeying God.  That is His desire for all humankind.  We call it "Trust and Obey."  Jesus Christ said, “…I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.”  (John 14: 6).
It is crucial that we know God for our eternal salvation.  However, it is just as important that God knows our name!
    Does He know your name?
