Andover's softball team won two games against crosstown rival Andover Central. The Trojans went on a hitting spree in both games on way victories by scores of 5-3 and 9-8.
In the opener, eight Trojans had multi-hit games as the team finished with 21 hits. Lexi Lesperance, Taylor Casady, Paige Ellison, Peyton Ramsett and Maddy Bishop all finished with three hits. Whitney Way had two hits, including a triple, and two RBIs. Ashley Lopez had two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Dakotah Smith also had two hits.
Lesperance gave up just two earned runs to the Jaguars despite allowing 16 hits. She struck out three and walked two Jags.
In game 2, the Trojans kept the hits coming. Six Trojans had at least three hits as the team finished with 22 hits. This time, Andover was able to move more runners across home plate.
Smith blasted a solo home run and finished 3-for-4.
Peyton Ramsett was 4-for-4 with an RBI to lead the offense. Ellison and Hayley Helmer both were 3-for-3 with an RBI apiece. Casady and Bishop both were 3-for-4 with an RBI apiece for the Trojans.
Casady had a triple, while Helmer, Way, Casady and Lesperance all had a double.
Lesperance again pitched a complete game. She allowed seven earned runs and struck out five. The Jaguars drew four walks to go along with seven earned runs.
